Ayudh Wisdom Lecture Series: The Modern Monk - Talk by Hindol Sengupta

Swami Vivekananda marked an Epoch in the history of our Nation with his dazzling and monumental ideas which permeated across the boundaries of our country to all the different parts of the world. He has remained and still remains as the role model and inspiration for millions of Young minds in our country. We celebrate his birthday January 12th as 'National Youth Day' honouring this great monk.

As a part of the 'National Youth Day' celebration, 'Yuva Jagriti 2017', AYUDH (Awaken Youth; Unite for Dharma) will organize an invited talk by Shri. Hindol Sengupta. AYUDH welcomes Shri. Hindol Sengupta to enlighten the students with his wisdom words. He is a young Journalist and author by standards of age; but rather powerful and popular by the standards of his reputation. In 2015, his seminal book “Recasting India: How Entrepreneurship is Revolutionizing World's Largest Democracy” was shortlisted for one of the world's most renowned prizes in economic writing, the Hayek Book Prize, given by the Manhattan Institute. He became the youngest writer ever, at 34, to be nominated for the Hayek Prize and the first ever from India. His latest book "The Modern Monk" is about Swami Vivekananda himself, which will be released in January. Hindol Sengupta shall be addressing the gathering at 3 p.m. in Amriteshwari Hall.

Amrita University in association with AYUDH is organizing a nationwide competition “Four Minutes for India” in February. The aim of the event is to encourage the youth of India to put forth their ideas that have the potential to transform India. The participants can prepare a short selfie video, self-recorded speech, short film or a presentation in 4 minutes to convey their ideas effectively. The competition is open for high school, graduate and postgraduate students. Hindol Sengupta shall be officially launching this event after his speech.

This will be followed by some cultural events by students.
